The Orangery at Blenheim Palace has recently been refurbished, and is open between noon and 5pm each day. Here, you can enjoy a selection of delicious dishes, like the elegant afternoon tea, scrumptious lunches and a selection of homemade cakes. The fresh, light filled bar space is the perfect spot to spend a few hours and escape from reality. On Sundays, a roast is also served with all the trimmings, so whatever you're in the mood for, you'll find it here.
The premium afternoon tea is a great way to treat a loved one, or enjoy an afternoon of indulgence yourself. Each is served with a glass of pink fizz, and savoury selections include the lobster and dill mayonnaise brioche roll, a free range egg mayonnaise and cress bridge roll, ham and dijon mustard finger sandwiches, and cream cheese and cucumber sandwiches. Sweet treats are accompanied by freshly baked homemade scones with a strawberry preserve and Cornish clotted cream, along with a signature Winston Churchill salted caramel cigar.
For lunch, enjoy a butter bean and smoked paprika soup with orzo, spinach, pesto and crusty sourdough, along with a heritage beetroot salad with horseradish cream, toasted pistachios, black olive crumb and garden leaves. Main dishes include the confit duck leg with chorizo and white bean cassoulet, calvo nero and a red wine sauce, and grilled wild boar and apple sausages, with bubble and squeak, onion gravy and some crispy kale. To polish things off, enjoy a selection of tasty desserts, like the coconut and passionfruit panna cotta with a pineapple salsa, a white chocolate creme brulee with raspberries and shortbread, and treacle tart with vanilla cream and lemon.
