Hawksmoor might be best known for its high-grade steaks, but anyone truly loyal to the brand will know that its drinks offering is one to be rivalled, too. Shifting the focus over to the latter, the famed steakhouse has opened an ambitious bar concept – Hawksmoor Bar – designed to bring together all the best bits of a Hawksmoor bar (the cocktails, food, décor and atmosphere) under one roof. Oh, and it's located on a floating pavilion...
The site boasts a huge nine-metre-long bar, dark green marble flooring, velvet booth seating and blue bar stools providing a luxurious, yet laid-back, setting in which to eat and drink. It's also home to a huge heated waterside terrace complete with comfortable seating, its own sound system and dramatic views of Canary Wharf.
Hawksmoor Bar features an exclusive cocktail list unlike anything you’ll see in the restaurants. The menu is divided into various sections, from light and refreshing drinks under the subheading Riviera, to iconic big-hitters under the title Landmarks. Martinis, Champagne cocktails and more indulgent ‘Sundowners’ are all on offer, too. Meanwhile, the wine list spans a concise selection of white, red and orange wines, plus sake and fizz.
When it comes to the food, Hawksmoor Bar offers the same a la carte menu as the restaurant upstairs, just in a more laid-back setting. That means you can still enjoy all your favourite Hawksmoor dishes here, from its signature steaks and sauces, to a selection of tasty sharing plates. You might choose to kick off with bone marrow and onions on toast for example, or Old Spot pork belly ribs with slaw, before tucking into your choice of dry-aged steak (rump, sirloin, fillet, rib-eye) cooked over charcoal. Finish with its famous sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream for an indulgent end to your meal.
