The Lord Nelson at Winthorpe is a beautiful traditional English country pub, serving excellent food and a range of traditional ales, beer and cider. Set in the picturesque village of Winthorpe near Newark on the Nottinghamshire/ Lincolnshire border, and ideally situated for Newark Showground, the pub has a firmly established reputation. The bar has the feel of an old country house with squashy sofas, roaring fires, wooden floors and low beams.
Originally built in 1800s, the pub is a Grade II listed building, bordered by a beck and set in idyllic countryside. The Nelson has a large walled beer-garden, outdoor BBQ, two snugs, a large bar and a newly refurbished restaurant with doors opening out on to our garden. For business events, celebrations and functions, our opulent Private Dining room seats up to 12, and we host weddings and christenings. Whether it's a beer and a burger in the bar, chilling on a leather sofa in our snug with your laptop, free wifi and a glass of wine, or a special dinner celebration, we are delighted to serve you.
We're proud to be a part of beautiful Winthorpe village and to support our local community, including sourcing all of our food and produce from local Lincs & Notts suppliers. We're 100% dog and tiny-human-friendly; our canine pals are welcome in our bar and beer garden and children are welcome everywhere. Our mission is to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. We're fully equipped with free WiFi, high chairs for children, baby-changing facilities, board games and a widescreen TV; our large Victorian walled garden offer a safe space in which children can play.
We're proud to support Winthorpe Primary School, Winthorpe 100 Club, Winthorpe Village Youth Club, Winthorpe & Coddington Cricket Club, Beaumond House Hospice, Survivors Manchester, Norton Disney Horse Trials, MIND and the Bomber County Gateway Trust.
