About

While records indicate the presence of a mill on The Longbridge Mill site as far back as eight centuries ago, the current structure likely dates back to the 15th century. The granary, now part of the inn, was an addition made in the 16th century. During its heyday, "Lodgridge Mill" in "Shirefield-upon-Loddon" was a thriving industrial hub in the region, boasting two water-wheels that powered four sets of milling stones. Remarkably, there's a functioning mill on the premises to this day, keeping the historical legacy alive.

As a cherished member of the Vintage Inn family, The Longbridge Mill is renowned for its welcoming ambience and its commitment to serving classic pub-style cuisine. Throughout the week, from Monday to Saturday, guests can indulge in the all day menu, which features a delectable array of dishes. From the mouthwatering hunter's chicken schnitzel to the tempting smoked haddock kedgeree fish cakes, and the delightful duo of tender lamb and seared sea bass fillet, their menu offers a variety of choices to satisfy every palate. Be sure to leave room for dessert, where you'll discover beloved classics like apple, blackcurrant, and cherry crumble, as well as the indulgent vanilla crème brulée. For an exceptionally sweet treat, don't miss the milk chocolate honey pot, filled with velvety chocolate mousse, luscious honey, crunchy honeycomb, and a buttery biscuit.

For those seeking a superb midweek dining experience, the fixed-price lunch menu is available from Monday to Thursday, between 12 and 5pm, offering a selection of two or three courses. Perhaps you'll start with the duck and orange parfait on sourdough toast, proceed to enjoy the lamb shepherd's pie, and conclude with a decadent double chocolate brownie paired with honeycomb ice cream.

Within the cosy bar area, complete with a crackling log fire, you'll find a generous assortment of locally sourced hand-pulled ales and ciders, signature seasonal cocktails, a well-curated wine list, and an impressive collection of British gins. On sunny summer days, guests can also opt to dine al fresco in the charming gardens.

Lovely pub, great food and great service

We visited here with our family and another group of friends, the place is super kid-friendly, which made life so much easier for us parents. The pub garden was a total win, the kids had a great time running around (and burning off their enegery!), and we actually got to enjoy our meal without any meltdowns! The kids really liked exploring the old mill as well, it made the whole place feel almost magical for them.

We had the best time here and its such a great spot for a family dinner. The food was awesome, we all cleaned our plates, even the little ones!
