Located on the ground floor of The Hub within Walsall College in Walsall, The Littleton Restaurant is a well-designed, spacious spot to enjoy in a variety of ways. Whether popping in for a breakfast bap on a weekday, enjoying the sandwich menu at lunchtime, or meeting the whole family for a special celebration over dinner, The Littleton Restaurant offers a great dining experience in an unexpected location.
The restaurant stands out not only for its food, but also for its commitment to culinary education - a professional working environment that assists and prepares hospitality and catering students for the commercial sector. With an AA Rosette-winning chef behind the team, and locally-sourced ingredients that are grown on the college campus, diners can expect to be delighted by the dinner menu which is served on Thursdays and Fridays, along with breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea each weekday. A freshly prepared selection of breakfast baps are available from 9.30am, before lunch begins with a creamy Mediterranean orzo, chicken and chorizo arrabiata, southern fried fish burger and teriyaki steak noodles.
You'll want to save room for dessert, though, with offers of a set chocolate mousse, and rhubarb and custard pain perdu paired with lime and ginger ice cream. Although only served two days a week, four dinner courses are served at just £35 per person. The meal begins with the chef's choice of amuse bouche, before a choice of soup, pulled crispy blade of beef, plaice scampi or orzo. For your main, there's plenty to choose from, including fresh market fish with a shellfish bisque, a locally sourced sirloin steak, and forest mushroom risotto. Last but not least, there's a lemon meringue eclair on the menu, with raspberry sorbet and dehydrated raspberries.
