The day begins at The Laureate with brunch. From overnight coconut, peach and raspberry oats and smoked streaky bacon eggs Benedict, to banana bread with candied hazelnuts and honey and omelettes with a variety of toppings, tummies are easily well filled.
The a la carte menu is where things really come to life, beginning with charred padron and sweet drop peppers, complete with a lime rouille and flat bread with house dips of beetroot hummus and sun-blushed tomato and ricotta. A starter of seared Scottish scallop nicoise with soft-boiled eggs, beef tomatoes, peppers, green beans, olives and new potatoes and classic minestrone soup are highlights on the menu, before heading onto mains of satay chicken with peanut sauce and pineapple salad, 12-hours braised beef short rib with mashed potato and crispy onions, and a fragrant chicken Thai green curry with jasmine rice.
Dessert cocktails are popular at The Laureate, and include a Megaton made of Nutella, Havana 3-years-old rum, double cream, chocolate cream, lime and gomme. Children are well catered for with cheesy garlic flatbread, crispy chicken strips and french fries, a build your own pizza and warm chocolate brownie.
The Graduate Bar, atrium and terrace provide a beautiful and airy setting to enjoy cocktails in the Manchester sunshine, along with local beers and light bar bites.
