The Lamb of Tartary is a stylish gastropub in Manchester, found on the corner of Dale Street and Newton Street in a beautiful, Grade II listed building boasting period features such as large windows, high ceilings and wall panelling.
Design lovers will appreciate the deep red, painted ceiling, large, vintage-style rugs and retro seating, which come together for a sleek, contemporary scheme. The vibe is warm and friendly, with the team keen to welcome both locals and out-of-towners alike. In the bar area, enjoy 15 different beers on Draught, four cask ales and a curated wine list.
When it comes to the food menus, let's kick off with brunch which offers exciting, and unusual, dishes such as oysters and bone marrow toast, pork scratchings and apple ketchup, as well as Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese doughnuts. Larger plates include bacon chop with fried egg, baked beans and chips, as well as an English muffin topped with potato rosti, fried egg, cheese and tomato jam.
As for the all day menu, you can start with some smaller plates for the table to share, or make this your main course. We like the sound of the pear, walnut, Garstang blue and radicchio salad, as well as Tamworth belly bacon and brown sauce, or Belted Galloway steak tartare and game chips.
Or, opt for a typical main, with options like Steelhead sea trout and Cinderwood radicchio, as well as a classic cheeseburger with house gherkins and chips, or something from the grill, like Brixham market fish or Cornish lobster.
As for those with a sweet tooth, we think you'll like the sound of the dessert menu, which includes the likes of ice cream of the day and cinder toffee, Pump Street chocolate mousse and somerset cherries, and a selection of local cheeses.
