The Lamb Inn is a charming 16th-century former coaching inn which graces the idyllic Devon village of Sandford. In close proximity to the market town of Crediton and a mere ten miles from the historic Cathedral town of Exeter, this delightful joint epitomises the essence of a quintessential English country pub. Inside, you'll find a welcoming bar adorned with an open fire, plush sofas, and a restaurant that delights in serving freshly prepared, locally sourced, and award-winning cuisine. The talented chefs work their culinary magic on the chargrill, crafting a diverse selection of dishes to satisfy all palates. Notably, the menu offers a generous selection of vegetarian and vegan options to cater to various dietary preferences.
Outside, you'll discover a sheltered cobbled courtyard, adorned with tables and sun umbrellas, making it the perfect spot to savour a meal or select a refreshing beverage from our extensive collection of local ales, lagers, wines, and spirits. An additional covered sundeck overlooks the courtyard, providing yet another charming setting. Furthermore, there's a grassy area at the top of the garden, ideal for families with children.
The chargrill menu begins with black olive tapenade with grilled flatbread and salt and pepper squid, before moving onto a delicious selection of mains. Choose from a trio of jerk chicken tacos with mango salsa, a fish platter sharing dish of goujons, salmon, squid and whitebait, a hearty half pound beef burger and rose harissa lamb with seasonal vegetables.
On Sundays, guests can enjoy a sirloin of beef, roast chicken or sticky soy aubergine. Each dish is served with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Those who have a smaller appetite can have a reduced portion, and children are accommodated, too. For dessert, why not finish off with the chocolate brownie topped with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream or a lemon curd and pistachio pavlova.
