I must say I'm surprised to see that no one has reviewed this place yet – I was so impressed by my trip to this restaurant that I felt compelled to go find somewhere to write a shining review.
I was having a horrible day in London when I came across The Kitchen at Tower. My friend and I were tired and lost, and had been treated really badly by almost every person we'd interacted with. It was our first time in London, and we were absolutely miserable. When we arrived at The Kitchen at Tower we were greeted by a fantastic man named Andrew who made every effort to make sure that we were comfortable, entertained and well fed. When he found out that our day had been miserable, he drew us a map of London, told us what bus to get on, showed us the best route for us to take a walking tour, and actually walked us to the bus stop to make sure we were heading the right way. He absolutely saved our trip, and the (absolutely *delicious*) cake that we had boxed up and took with us when we left provided a lovely late night snack when we were later stuck in the airport for most of the night.
The restaurant is beautiful and eccentric, the staff are lovely, the food is wonderful, everyone there seems to be enjoying themselves, and it's in a great spot right by the Tower of London. Returning to this restaurant would definitely be on my list of things to do if I ever return to London.
