The King’s Arms is a charming pub and brasserie situated in the pretty Cotswold village of Prestbury, Cheltenham. The King’s Arms, which makes up part of Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie Company, is open daily serving a delicious looking, seasonal a la carte menu, alongside a Saturday breakfast menu and traditional Sunday lunch.
The King’s Arms has been thoughtfully decorated throughout, with an inviting contemporary feel, plenty of soft seating areas and traditional wooden dining tables. There is a pretty, outdoor area which is lined with festoon lighting, large terracotta pots of greenery and table lanterns, the perfect place to while away a Summer’s evening.
You may wish to start things off with an aperitif, perhaps a glass of bubbles followed by some rustica olives and garlic baguette. Starters include favourites such as chicken liver parfait served with truffle butter, homemade red onion marmalade and toasted brioche, and the famous White Brasserie cheese souffle served with Wyke farm cheddar sauce.
Main courses include many comforting classic dishes such as boeuf bourguignon served with a creamy mash, or perhaps you would prefer the smoked outdoor-reared pork belly served with roasted apple, braised cabbage and dauphinoise potato. Vegetarian dishes include a halloumi burger served with house coleslaw, and a Moroccan mezze platter served with globe artichoke, falafel and houmous.
The dessert menu looks unique and tempting, with dishes such as the cherry amandine which is an almond sponge served with black cherries, pistachio and a vanilla Anglaise sauce. You will find a number of traditional favourites on the menu, including sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb crumble, plus, a selection of ice creams and sorbets.
Finish off your meal with a trio of truffles and freshly brewed coffee, or perhaps one of the King’s Arms after dinner cocktails such as an espresso martini, or a Woodford Reserve old fashioned.
There is a good selection of wine, beers and ciders, as well as a large gin menu and plenty of non-alcoholic options, fruit juices and soft drinks.
