The Jobber’s Rest, Upminster is a welcoming family pub and brasserie located close to Thames Chase forest park and Upminster Windmill. The pub is open daily, serving a seasonal la carte menu, it is part of Raymond Blanc's White Brasserie Company group.
The Jobber’s Rest is light and airy with a spacious modern indoor seating area as well as a good-sized garden with plenty of tables. The garden seating is largely covered and is decorated with pretty pastel bunting and festoon lighting.
The a la carte menu has a good selection of classic British and French inspired dishes with starters such as the much-loved cheese souffle served with Wyke farm Cheddar, and a chicken liver parfait served with truffle butter, red onion and toasted brioche. Main courses include dishes such as slow cooked beef bourguignon served with a creamy mash, and roasted halibut served with a champagne sauce. You will also find a good selection of free-range grass-fed steaks, steak frites and chateaubriand for two.
When it comes to desserts there are lots of favourites on the menu, such as sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb crumble and plenty of ice cream and sorbets. There is also a hand-selected cheese board served with seasonal French and English cheeses, crackers and accompaniments. To finish your meal perhaps you might go for a freshly brewed coffee served with a trio of truffles.
There is also a large drinks menu offering a good selection of wine, beer and cider, plus a wide range of gin, cocktails and mocktails.
