Caprice Holdings’ The Ivy Brasserie in Bath brings old-school glamour to the centre of bath with a huge menu of classic European dishes served in an impressively decorated, high-ceilinged dining room. Based on Milsom Street the grand stone façade of the building which is decorated with flowers and greenery sets the tone for the rest of the eatery.
The impressive dining room is done up head to toe in blues and whites with the ornate ceiling resembling a piece of Josiah Wedgewood pottery. Plush blue chairs are placed around tables topped with white table cloths and the large windows ensure that plenty of light pours into the room. There is also a gleaming bar at one end with a large selection of drinks behind it. During the summer, you can enjoy your food or drinks in the small courtyard terrace out the back.
When it comes to the food offering, there’s almost too much to choose from. Breakfast options vary from granola to a full Ivy breakfast, with a number of juices and smoothies on offer too. The huge all-day menu features classic starters such as prawn cocktail and steak tartare, as well as a lobster risotto. Main courses vary from a salmon and smoked haddock fishcake to a selection of aged steaks.
There is also of course a decent list of desserts including rum baba and a chocolate bombe. The Ivy Brasserie Bath also caters for vegetarians and vegans with a separate entirely meat-free menu which features a vegan sweet potato curry.
The drinks menu is just as impressive as the food offering with an impressive selection of wines available by the glass and bottle. On top of this, there are a huge number of cocktails on offer too, with non-alcoholic cocktails available alongside plenty of other soft drink options.
