The Hidden Lane Tea Room can be found in a sunny corner of Glasgow's West End, situated amongst crafting studios, musicians, and colourful buildings. This charming little tea room has an extensive range of homemade cakes and bakes which are served all day alongside a wide range of loose leaf teas to choose from, all served in vintage teapots.
Breakfast is served between 10am and 12pm, and includes all things on toast, including peanut butter, Biscoff and banana, scrambled eggs on toast and even haggis with avocado, tomato and rocket. If you like afternoon tea, try this one with a twist, including a bacon and chutney roll, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs in a rocket roll, and a savoury muffin before a selection of mini pastries. No tea is complete without a scone, and yours will come with plenty of clotted cream and jam, along with loose leaf tea or a coffee.
Lunch is served from midday, and includes a lovely selection of sandwiches and wraps. Choose from flavour pairings of hummus with cucumber, tomato, red onion and balsamic glaze, the mature cheddar with apple chutney and leaves, or roast chicken with mango chutney, mayo and leaves. Soup is served with bread and butter, and there's also an option for wee tee, which includes a selection of finger sandwiches and a large scone with a pot of tea.
Chai and tea cocktails feature on the menu, and sound totally delicious. The Yogi Chai is Indian chai served with steamed milk, honey and sugar, and then there's the Dhesi Chai with aniseed and cardamom. The Peach Melba is peach infused tea served with steamed milk, and there are other tea cocktails such as the Rooibos Smooth and London Fog.
