The Hare in Old Redding, Harrow Weald is now part of Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie Company group and is open daily serving a seasonal a la carte menu of British and French inspired classic dishes.
The Hare, Old Redding offers a rural escape from the city, it is well positioned to explore the history of Harrow on the Hill, or to take a stroll through the woodlands of Harrow Weald Common. This bar and brasserie has a classic menu featuring lots of British pub favourites to choose from.
Starters include the much-loved White Brasserie Company cheese souffle served with Wyke Cheddar sauce, there is also a chicken liver parfait served with onion marmalade and toasted brioche, plus lighter dishes such as the grilled squid salad served with chilli and lime.
Main courses cover plenty of popular dishes such as steak frites and beef bourguignon served with smooth mash. Lighter dishes include the roasted halibut served with champagne sauce, and a Malabar fish curry served with toasted coconut. You will also find a good selection of 30-day matured, grass fed steaks, burgers and a special chateaubriand for two.
The Sunday lunch menu features Cornish roast beef, sirloin of outdoor reared pork, plus roast chicken and a vegetarian smoked cheese parcel. All dishes come with cauliflower cheese, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshires and bottomless rich gravy.
Desserts include sticky toffee pudding and a poached rhubarb crumble. There is also a good selection of ice cream with tempting flavours such as salted caramel, chocolate and coconut.
The Hare has a pretty outdoor seating area with plenty of benches and tables, the outdoor space has been thoughtfully decorated with pastel bunting and festoon lighting, it is also largely covered making it the perfect year-round space.
There is also a children’s menu and a junior menu which offers many of the main menu dishes simply served in a smaller portion.
