Afternoon tea at The Hansom is set in suitably refined surrounds. This beautiful bar and lounge in King’s Cross St Pancras offers guests a modern and stylish backdrop in which to indulge in elegant sandwiches, decadent pastries and endless loof leaf tea. The venue prides itself on upholding British heritage in everything it does, from the décor to the food, providing a fitting location to enjoy this quintessentially British tradition.
The afternoon tea menu changes seasonally, but you can always expect to find a delightful selection of sweet and savoury delights alongside loose-leaf teas. Kick things off with dainty sandwiches filled with the likes of cucumber, mint and crème fraiche, smoked trout, chive and lemon cream cheese, and truffle egg mayonnaise with mustard cress.
All its pastries are served alongside freshly-baked scones, one plain and one fruit, and paired with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Save room for its pretty patisseries, where you can expect to find things like berry mousse with red berry jelly, a crispy red choux with rhubarb curd, and dark chocolate mousse with pink grapefruit.
Guests are given the option to select either the classic or Champagne afternoon tea, but if you’re celebrating a special occasion, then adding a glass of Veuve Clicquot to your meal is a guaranteed way to make it extra special.
If you’d rather stick to the tea, there are plenty of delicious options to choose from. Discover seasonal blends, black, white and green teas, as well as a distinctive Jasmine Silver Tip sparkling tea that’s well worth a try.
Afternoon tea at The Hansom is served Wednesday to Saturday, 1-5pm. If you have any dietary requirements, do note that vegetarian, vegan and gluten free alternatives are available upon request.
