London is known for its unique architecture and historical feel, and if you love the idea of dining and drinking in a Victorian watering hole with a sumptuous take on the Gothic Revival, we have just the place for you.
Buried deep within the dramatic St Pancras Renaissance hotel, which proudly sits next to King's Cross station, the Gothic Bar is a wonderland of rich colours, ornate original features and Art Deco references. Think a rich, green marble bar, sinkable velvet sofas and oversized palms, all coming together for a glamorous backdrop to drinks and nibbles.
Its concept is hinged on the cocktail bars of old and the mixologists have worked hard to create a bespoke selection of signature drinks to whet your whistle. The Damsel's Dream, for example, brings together a rum blend, vanilla and miso biscuit syrup, blueberry jam, citrus and oat milk, while the house 'Ode Fashioned' offers a sweet take, mixing roasted chestnut bourbon with date syrup and Oloroso sherry.
There's also a curated bar snacks menu which offers a versatile range of nibbles to cater for a range of tastes. For a little something, try the Gordal olives, smoked almonds and pain de campagne with salted butter. Small plates include grilled octopus, pickled chilli and Gordal olive gildas, as well as comté gougères and pickled walnut, and wild mushroom and truffle croque madame.
If celebrating a special occasion, why not try the fabulous fruits de mer platter? Decorated with dressed crab, scallop ceviche, oysters, mussels, and a half lobster, finished with soda bread and seaweed butter, it's sure to contribute to a memorable evening. Of course, if you'd rather just get stuck into something hearty, The Gothic Bar can cater for that too, with a cheeseburger au poivre and french fries.
