Interest in the vibrant tastes and colours of Middle Eastern cuisine has surged in recent years, and this Stoke Newington offering is the latest to make the most of the trend. Housed in a Grade II-listed building, it’s a big step-up for Joel Braham and his team. They’ve been peddling their style of cooking at market stalls and festivals for the last couple of years, but their challah bun burgers with pickled onion and Russian dressing, za’atar fried chicken and pink pastrami short rib deserved a proper home. Expect roast cauliflower with pomegranate and tahini dressing or Tel Aviv tomato, lemon and cucumber salad to accompany, all impeccably sourced and produced as sustainably as possible.
