Despite the mundane exterior of the four-star Chiswick Moran Hotel, its adjoining Globe Bar has a certain retro charm. Wood panelling, a brown & orange colour scheme & a huge glittering globe lend the venue a 1970s vibe, with further interest provided by one of London’s longest bars & intimate booth seating. Local young professionals have certainly taken to the place, particularly on Friday & Saturday nights when DJs raise the volume. Brunch & light bites of the sandwich/salad/nachos variety account for the food, but the punters are really here for the global selection of bottled beers & the line-up of zingy cocktails. Wind down with a ‘what’s the rush’ (Jameson whiskey, apple juice & lemonade), or get in the mood with a French kiss (Champagne, raspberries & ginger beer with apricot brandy).
