One of Company of Cooks’ most alluring venues, the café in Regent’s Park’s Inner Circle uses pure 1960s’ architecture as a backdrop for cooking that demonstrates a voguish preference for careful sourcing. Menus follow the seasons & attention to detail is evident in, say, a dusting of spicy white pepper on a smoked salmon bagel or the tarragon in a salad accompanying fresh crab. The interior combines hexagonal pods & flashes of bright colour with natural materials, driftwood sculpture & views of the gardens, while the extensive outdoor space is perfect for alfresco breakfasts in summer or gentle sipping before a performance at the Open Air Theatre next door. There’s a short list of beers & wines, but on fine days, Pimm’s seems the most appropriate tipple.
