Billed as a ‘country pub and eatery’, the white-painted weatherboarded Fox Revived points up its deliberately rustic theme with lots of varnished woodwork, farmhouse furniture and quarry-tiled
floors, plus shelves of produce and folksy comestibles all around. To eat, deli platters and sharing boards line up alongside grills, salads, fish pie, Longhorn burgers and ‘favourites’ such as
heritage sausage and mash, macaroni cheese or honey-roast ham with egg and chips, while whole lobster and chateaubriand are regular specials for those who want to splash out at the weekend.
Wednesday night is steak night, Thursday is the best day for veggies, and there are roasts on Sunday – just add weekend breakfasts, a kids’ menu and informal live music on Tuesday evenings (bring
your own instrument) for the full package.
