Playing on the truth that Londoners love all things from NYC, Clerkenwell has just acquired a proper Brooklyn bar and restaurant, the first from its mother company outside the States, and if all goes well, they’re intending to roll out another seven over the next few years – making London a colony of the East Coast rather than the other way round. If they carry on the way they’ve started, we think things look reasonably rosy for them – pumpkin waffles and Nutella French toast give way to eggs, salads and burgers, but by the evening grilled meats and fish and great cheeses are the favourites to order, washed down with boiodynamic wine and craft beer from both sides of the pond. Expect a light, vibrant setting during the day and darker, more atmospheric evenings.
