The Fleet is a pub in the Southsea area of Portsmouth, a short walk from the city’s university. There is a large beer garden, ideal for drinks in the summer months. The pub also shows live sport and a strong selection of craft and real ales.
Food is served from midday until 9pm every day from a broad menu that is likely to suit most tastes. The small plates range includes chicken wings, hunter’s BBQ chips and crispy coated prawns. The sharing options are a tear and share garlic baguette, a cheesy Doritos starter or 10 chicken wings.
Mains dishes draw on both traditional and contemporary pub food. The favourites range features an all-day breakfast (also available vegetarian), lasagne, fish and chips, and chicken tikka masala. Burger options are equally as numerous. Toppings include cheese and bacon, chicken and bacon and burning hot (two patties with sriracha, jalapenos and burger sauce).
All dishes in the grill range are served with chips, half a grilled tomato and peas and you can choose from the likes of a rump steak and mixed grill. On Sundays there’s roast. Turkey, pork and beef are the meat options; vegetarians have a mushroom Wellington. If you order the triple roast, all three meats come at once.
