My Favourite Pub
The Flask is perhaps my favourite pub in London with its great history, design and rural ambiance. Whenever I have friends in town I always take them to the Flask in Highgate Village. Dating back to 1663, The Flask was the regular drinking place for the likes of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Hogarth.
Grab a couple drinks at the bar while waiting for your table (reservations can be made online and highly recommended).
The menu is printed daily and at the latest visit my party ordered: the burger, cod and chips, and rib eye while enjoy the view from our window table. Fresh bread and oil were brought to our table with the water while we waited on the meal. And finally the food arrived and we dove in. It was all delicious and everyone enjoyed themselves.
After our meal, we ordered a couple teas and coffees while perusing the dessert menu: A sticky toffee pudding and a refreshing scoop of mango sorbet were just what we needed.
You will not be disappointed in a visit to the Flask even if it is just for a drink. There is an ample number of tables inside and outside, clean restrooms, friendly staff, free wifi available and delicious food is available during normal luncheon and dinner hours (bar snacks are available during the afternoon).
