The story of The Corner House Canterbury began in July 2016, as they opened their doors to become one of Canterbury's most sought-after dining establishments. Housed within a 16th-century former coach house, the restaurant features a charming view of the city walls. The careful refurbishment has preserved the venue's original character, creating an inviting space where history meets contemporary dining. The main restaurant accommodates up to 40 guests and shows the magic unfold in the open kitchen. The second dining room overlooks the beautiful garden and is perfect for larger gatherings along with being available for private dining, comfortably seating up to 26 guests.
The menu kicks off with proper pork scratchings with burnt apple butter or some Maldon oysters served naturally with shallot vinegar, tabasco and lemon. Starters include sticky harissa carrots with hummus and toasted hazelnuts, along with a chicken and chorizo terrine with BBQ mayo and treacle toast. For your main, enjoy the beetroot wellington with roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli, tomato and shallot dressing, or the confit pork belly with burnt ends croquette, apple butter, mash, greens and a cider jus. Dust things off with a treacle tart, lemon posset with oat biscuit, or a delicious affogato with a choice of honeycomb, brown bread or vanilla ice cream.
