The Corner Eatery and Bar Store can be found at the junction of Bank Street and Irish Street in Dumfries town centre, making it a great spot for both locals and visitors to the area. The head chef and owner Slav says they are proud to “be considered a ‘go-to place’ in Dumfries town centre for a great hearty meal, a warm welcome and some delicious flavours from all over the world.” The restaurant caters to all dietary requirements including diabetic, vegetarian and vegan, lactose-free, gluten-free and any allergies and intolerances.
Lunch is served every day between 12 and 3pm, and includes several different burgers, including one filled with haggis and cheese. There are also light lunch dishes of a steak and onion ciabatta and a creamy garlic tomato pasta, along with plenty of sides to choose from.
Start dinnertime off with coral on, hand dived scallops with chorizo, spring onion and truffled cauliflower puree, or some grilled halloumi with Moroccan seasoning and honey. If you want to share your dishes with the table, order the large nachos, topped with beef chilli or cajun chicken, cheese, guacamole, jalapenos, salsa and creme fraiche. Main dishes include the beef stroganoff, slowly cooked BBQ pork ribs, garlicky chicken kiev and teriyaki salmon. You can even add haggis to a macaroni cheese dish, for a truly Scottish twist. If you like salads, order the crispy chicken Caesar salad, with lettuce, dressing, bacon and tomatoes, southern fried chicken fillet, parmesan cheese and toasted bread. There are also a selection of fajitas, pastas and burritos, burgers, steaks and grills, and risottos.
Polish off your meal with a nice dessert, perhaps the Belgian chocolate fudge cake, or sticky toffee pudding with Baileys toffee sauce.
