Just around the corner from Seven Dials in Brighton, The Chimney House welcomes locals and travellers alike with open arms. A pet friendly pub that loves to see families, The Chimney House serves locally sourced, hearty dishes alongside a bar offering local ales, well sourced wines and non alcoholic options. The open plan pub area means that you’re constantly surrounded by chatter, laughter and smiley faces. If you need an area for a private booking or party, The Chimney House would be pleased to help you out. Most of the food on the menu is sourced from Sussex farms, fisheries and producers. If you see something on the menu you like the look of but aren’t quite sure of a few ingredients, chat to the team, who will do their best to accommodate your requests.
Starters on the menu include a spiced chickpea, quinoa, almond and raisin salad, along with ham and cheddar croquettes with red pepper and Parmesan, and duck liver parfait with marmalade and toast. For your main meal, you’ll find plenty of pub classics with a twist. Try the wild venison sausages with buttered mash, crispy onions and gravy, along with a braised lamb hotpot served with root vegetables and sliced potato, and beer battered haddock with real mushy peas, triple cooked chips and tartare sauce.
If you’re looking for a vegan or vegetarian dish, try the fried halloumi burger in a brioche bun with relish, red pepper, pickles and chips, or the chickpea option. Desserts sound delicious. Try the vanilla ice cream profiteroles with a salted caramel sauce, the apple and rhubarb crumble with hot, creamy custard, or some local cheeses that are served with crackers, chutney and gherkins.
