The Castle in Castleton is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
Situated in Castleton for hundreds of years, the Castle is steeped in spooky local legends. These tales tell of no less than four spirits haunting the grounds of The Castle, including a jilted bride. An integral part of the local community, we were also a stop-off point for the Wellington Express coach, which travelled between Manchester and Sheffield in the 1800's.
A jewel set in the rolling hills of the Peak District; The Castle is a pub with rooms, making it a terrific year-round base from which to explore surroundings of stunning natural beauty.
