Located in the heart of Glasgow city centre, The Butterfly & The Pig has a pretty quirky menu, with dishes named after memories or significant characters. The small beginnings section, similar to starters, include black pudding with salad, apples, bacon and parmesan, along with maple glazed courgette and cauliflower served with a salad of tomatoes and French beans. Prawns are served on toast after being lightly pan fried with chilli and garlic, tossed in white wine and parsley, and Papa Porko's pork belly bites are coated in maple syrup before being served on a lemon dressed salad.
Classic mains include a steak pie made with puff pastry, served with baby vegetables and your choice of mash, chips or new potatoes, along with a garlic and tarragon marinated chicken burger served with sliced tomatoes, gem lettuce and homemade slaw. Each week there is a vegan risotto on the menu, with flavours changing depending on what's seasonally available. Another meat free feast is the veggie delight, consisting of a breaded aubergine burger topped with vegan bacon, baby gem lettuce and a basil vegan mayonnaise.
Afternoon tea is served on the main floor of the Georgian Townhouse in a vintage tea room setting, and is voted one of the best you can get in Scotland. The classic afternoon tea includes canapes, sandwiches, home baked scones and cakes served with your choice of tea – from a variety of 40 choices. You can choose to elevate your afternoon tea experience with a glass of fizz, a signature cocktail or gin and tonic. The Sunday roast is another popular choice at The Butterfly & The Pig, offering you a choice of freshly roasted meats paired with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, a homemade Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. There are always gluten free, veggie and vegan options available.
