The Brasserie, by Smoking Lobster is located off Sun Hill, Cowes. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday serving a Mediterranean, seasonal menu of locally sourced, freshly made pasta and seafood.
The Brasserie is spacious, light and airy, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is modern and inviting, however there are plenty of cosy corners to enjoy an intimate meal for two. The restaurant welcomes both large and small bookings, making it a great venue for celebrations and events.
The Brasserie serves an a la carte menu, along with a set menu. There are additional options for special events and banqueting. If you’re heading to the bar area, you will also find a good selection of small plates and snacks available including dishes such as sea bass goujons, fresh bread and cured meats.
The main a la carte menu is seasonal and subject to change, however you may find tempting sounding starters such as grilled king prawns served in a langoustine and saffron bisque, and Isle of Wight brown crab served with torched pink grapefruit.
Main courses may include dishes such as fresh seafood tagliatelle served with king prawns, Isle of Wight crab and seared scallops, or tempura lobster salad served with chorizo and sourdough croutes.
Other non-fish options may include honey glazed pork belly risotto, 28 day aged ribeye steak served with a bourbon peppercorn sauce, and corn fed chicken breast served with pomme puree and peas.
There is a separate dessert menu which has a good selection of tempting dishes, such as rose and coconut panna cotta, tiramisu, plus cheese and biscuits.
Post-dinner you will find a good selection of fresh coffee, tea and herbal tea on the menu. You might also go for a cocktail, with favourites such as the espresso martini on offer, some of which are served with a twist - perhaps you’ll go for the miso caramel or the chocolate praline.
