The Bobbin

This is a characterful pub away from the hustle and bustle of Clapham common. It has a cosy feel with the restaurant area somewhat separate to the bar and further dining tables in the conservatory out the back. With an open fire in winter and a nice beer garden that gets lots of sun on summer days, this is a lovely relaxing option throughout the year. The emphasis here is more on the food than the bar. The menu offers all the gastropub favourites but they are done well with nice presentation. The vegetarian options are the old reliables. On my last visit, a spinach and feta pie with filo pastry promised much but didn't really deliver. It was dry and somewhat bland. My dining partner enjoyed his roast chicken dinner which came with all the usual trimmings and a tasty gravey. The service is efficient, the staff are friendly and the prices fair.
