ANOTHER GREAT EVENING
We frequently use the restaurant at the Blue Boar and it has never let us down. The atmosphere at this old Inn is excellent with its low beams and bags of history.
Most importantly, the food is always first class, with plenty of choice, a good range of wines, pleasant staff and excellent value.
On a week night we usually chose from the 'bar menu' as this offers even greater value but still with a reasonable range of choices. You may have to ask the staff for this menu as it isn't always promoted.
This time it was a Sunday evening and so we chose off their special fixed price Sunday Menu.
There was a choice of soup of the day, whitebait or mozzarella and tomato tower followed by the main course of either roast beef, pork, lamb of seabass. Between the four of us in our group we sampled each and there were no complaints...........other than the whitebait portions we large and very filling and there was a very generous portion of meat on every plate..........hardly something to stop us coming back soon!!!
I had the seabass and it was probably the tastiest and best prepared I have sampled for a long time.
We were all too full to even contemplate a sweet, as tempting as they looked.
Including pre dinner drinks the bill for all four of us came to under £70, incredible value for such a pleasant evening out with friends.
