The Bar at The Store Oxford

Located on the ground floor of Oxford’s newest luxury hotel The Bar at The Store offers a multi-dimensional space perfect for a variety of Oxford’s needs from casual drinks and snack in the evening to co-working during the day.

The bar opens into an airy and brightly lit space thanks to the large windows overlooking Broad Street, a feature that has been conserved from the premises’ previous life as the iconic Boswells department store which closed in 2020.Guests will also be served on the bar’s terrace which is a perfect spot for people-watching and enjoying an al-fresco drink. The space also has a fireside snug providing a cozy environment for the remote worker and an atmospheric ambiance for an evening cocktail on cold winter days. The bar negotiates the varying needs of the multi-use space by discouraging laptops after 6pm as the space transitions for its evening clientele.

The Bar at The Store’s menu is characterized by their ‘sips and scavenger bites’ which feature creative bar bites such as their Deep-Fried Lasagna Goujons as well as some more substantial classic mains with their ‘The Store Cheeseburger’ and the ‘Tradewell’s Ale Battered Fish & Chips’. The menu is seasonal and changes frequently providing diners with fun and inventive variety. The drinks menu has an extensive variety of wines, cocktails and beers as well as providing hot and soft drinks. This also includes their Champagne list which is also served as part of their Afternoon Tea offering . Afternoon Tea at The Bar at The Shore is served at two seatings daily, at 1pm and 3pm, and offers familiar food with an elevated twist including a Miso Trout and Avocado Sand which, Blackberry and Basil Jam Tartlets and a Pulled Ham Hock Slider.
