About
An arbitrager is a broker who deals in stocks, bonds, commodities and derivatives. The trade at this cosy new bar – shoebox-sized, invariably packed, with only two staff at a small counter to one end – is in liquid gold of the brewing variety. London beer comes from the likes of Beavertown, Brixton, Crate and London Fields, whose Shoreditch Triangle IPA might figure among the changing cast of draught ales and ciders. London gins (40 of them) are the Arbitrager’s second smart investment, including Fifty Pounds, Butler’s, King of Soho, Fords and Half Hitch (the latter all black tea, pepper, hay, wood chip and bergamot). Try house pour Portobello with homemade tonic (£8 for a double). Snacks such as beef jerky, biltong, smoked kabanos, Scotch eggs and sausage rolls serve as accompaniments. You might even get a hot tip, if you ply an arbitrager with a few pints of Fourpure Amber Ale.
