Tempest is a great go to space for those who like their morning caffeine and sweet treats en route to the office, people who enjoy leisurely lunches with friends, groups looking for after work drinks, and even late night parties. The Tempest team are driven by creating fresh and locally sourced dishes with ingredients brought in from nearby independent suppliers, even looking after a bee hive on the restaurant’s roof to produce the honey that is included in many dishes and cocktails. The team are also pretty good at hosting, and will make sure that you have a fantastic time, whether enjoying the Kol Box basement bar or the beautiful views out of the seventh floor terrace, you’ll be rushing to go back.
Breakfasts at Tempest include the Rockerfeller special, including crispy bacon, traditional pork sausage, poached egg, vine-on cherry tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, hash brown, black pudding and baked beans. For something a little different, try the grilled halloumi with baby gem lettuce, chilli and lime smashed avocado and chilli jam on a toasted bloomer. Those who have a sweet tooth will enjoy the stacked American style buttermilk pancakes topped with Nutella, fresh bananas and mixed nuts.
Come lunchtime, enjoy Tempest wraps stuffed with house fillings and mixed salad, slightly toasted, and choose from tuna and mayo, chicken and bacon, and cheese and caramelised red onion. And, at lunch, who can say no to a fish finger butty? Made with crispy beer battered fish goujons served on baby gem lettuce with a homemade tartar sauce. In the evening, enjoy dishes like cheeseburger loaded fries and a traditional Liverpudlian beef stew served with potatoes, carrots and onions, and a plate of prawn tacos, along with plenty of delicious desserts.
