TASTI PERMANENTLY CLOSED IN APRIL 2016
With a Malaysian chef who has spent time in Singapore, and an Australian manager with experience at Taman Gang and Will Ricker’s Eight Over Eight, Tasti is a pan-Asian restaurant with pedigree. The menu wends its way around China, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam with a fair bit of Japan thrown in. Thus dinner could start with soft-shell crab tempura with wasabi mayo, or grilled satay chicken with cucumber and Malaysian ketupat rice, and continue with a salmon sambal with Chinese broccoli and enoki mushrooms, or a taro and mushroom hotpot. There’s a small selection of sushi and sashimi too. Whatever rocks your boat, it will be prettily presented, the ingredients will be fresh, and dinner will be cooked to order – which gives diners enough time to enjoy a cocktail or two to sharpen their appetites. A tasty prospect.
