Tapas Revolution Birmingham is one of the 7 branches of the well-known Tapas Revolution mini chain. Founded in 2010 with its flagship store in Westfield, Shepherd’s Bush, Tapas Revolution aims to bring both traditional and modern Spanish dishes to the UK.
Founder Omar originally hails from Madrid and proudly declares that his passion for Spanish food is at the heart of everything he does. He originally trained under legendary chef Ferran Adria of El Bulli and is now recognised as one of the celebrity chefs of the UK.
Located inside Birmingham’s Grand Central shopping centre, Tapas Revolution reflects the bars of the Spanish capital – copper-topped, with copper lights above, marble tables and plenty of buzz.
The menu is a true smorgasbord of Spanish dishes, old and new. Unsurprisingly, the menu has a clear focus on tapas, which are divided into Bread and Nibbles, Jamon and Queso, Carnes, Pescados, and Verduras. This colourful selection includes classics such as patatas bravas, croquetas, and wafer thin jamón ibérico, as well as more daring options like cordero al chilindrón (Riojan lamb stew) or piquillos con setas (béchamel stuffed peppers).
Main dishes cover a range of tasty traditional Spanish dishes such as slow-cooked Iberian pork shoulder, grilled steak with chimicurri, and marinated chicken skewers, with an additional vegan option of Calabaza Asada (roasted butternut squash with accompanying vegetables).
In addition to tapas and main dishes, there are also paellas on offer with the option to choose between Paella de Pollo or Arroz Negro (with shellfish and squid ink).
Drinks wise, Tapas Revolution offers a range of sangrias, cocktails, beers, digestivos, soft drinks and more. Don’t forget about Bottomless Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays where you can choose three tapas accompanied by either Sangria or House Wine!
