Sultan's Palace is an Indian speciality restaurant, bringing tandoori cuisine, barbecued Indian favourites and the very best of fine ingredients to the people of Liverpool. The team has a true appreciation for fine food, and are proud to serve it with exceptional service. There are two specialities from the restaurant – offering tandoori and Mughlai cooking, both originating from the north west frontier territory.
The starters include simple dishes of poppadoms with a homemade chutney tray and chips sauteed in a special masala sauce. Bigger plates range from the keema mattar samosas and coated butterfly king prawns that are deep fried and served with a homemade chilli and garlic dip. The chilli paneer is a popular dish of Indian cottage cheese that is cooked in a spicy sauce along with mixed peppers and onions. If you enjoy fish and seafood, try the fish white fillet fish amritsari or prawn puri cooked with herbs and light spices on a puri bread side.
For a taste of Indian street food, try the aloo papri chaat served cold, and slow fried chicken lollipops with a blend of chef's special spicy sauce, along with the vegetable Manchurian that is an Indo-Chinese dish of vegetable koftas sauteed into a sauce that explodes with hot, sweet, sour and salty flavours. Some of the tandoori main dishes include the salmon tikka sizzler made with carom seeds, yoghurt, herbs and spices, and the lamb chops marinated with baby papaya, ginger, garlic and green chilli paste. For a chef's special chicken creation, order the house favourite of butter chicken simmered in a satin smooth tomato and butter sauce. There are special lamb creations, too, including the rara lamb Punjabi which combines minced and diced lamb for an authentic Punjabi taste.
