Looking like a cross between a ramshackle artist’s studio and a designer-chic rustic kitchen, Story Deli is a quirky mix of communal scrubbed-wood tables, collages, dangling mobiles, bottles and other bric-a-brac from the collective junkyard. The kitchen’s mainstay is a range of super-thin, crispy pizzas (£16) built from a host of certified organic ingredients: by-pass familiar names such as margherita in favour of more lively ideas including garlic-roasted pumpkin with chorizo and Tallegio or fico goats’ cheese with Parma ham, fig and olive tapenade; also brace yourself for the chilli-spiked Charlie Jones with spicy sausage. Flapjacks, cheesecake and brownies go well with coffee during the day, while alcohol is confined to a brace of wines and bottles of Freedom organic lager. Note: cash only.
