Stereo has something for everyone. Tucked away on Renfield Lane, is a dedicated vegan cafe in the day, a bar and kitchen in the evening and a club and gig spot at night, so you'll never be bored at any time of the day.
Founded in Glasgow in 2007, Stereo is housed in a building designed by Charlie Rennie Mackintosh. The interiors are cool and funky with black walls adorned with chalk boards, bold wallpapers on feature walls, and plants and lamps hanging from the ceiling. The venue prides itself on its atmosphere, both as an event space and as a vegan eatery.
Seasonal, homemade food and breads will grace the table, starting with the small plates. Simple dishes like roast tenderstem broccoli are placed alongside creative offerings like the coriander and lime jackfruit cakes or the roast asparagus and gram pancake. Stereo's menu offers a wide range of cuisines in its larger main courses. The chef's take you to South American with the arepa and spicy black beans, before flying away to Japan for some seasame and tomato ramen. If you're not up for taking your tastebuds on a journey, stick with the British classic of fish and chips (vegan-style!); a marinated banana blossom in beer batter comes served alongside blitzed garden peas, hand cut chunky chips and tartare. If you don't want to miss out on the chunky chips, you can always add them as a side with either nooch or togarashi spice.
Stereo also takes dessert seriously with the knickerblock glory being a real showstopper. Thankfully, thats just a saying as by this time of the evening, you'll want to take a trip down to the basement for the event space. Gigs, DJs and shows will keep you entertained light into the night with a great list of cocktails, wine, beers and liquors available at the bar.
