Launched by Jackson Berg and Natalia Ribbe, the duo responsible for much-missed restaurant Barletta, this new Parisian inspired wine bar is the product of their shared love for food and drink combining to create an all encompassing joyful experience for guests.
This cosy yet lively bar has a trendy feel to it with high barstools, walls laden with wine bottles, and handwritten specials boards. On offer is an extensive wine list with a distinct focus on organic and sustainable wines from independent vineyards and female winemakers, with over 80% natural wines. Also included are some more unusual wines from Eastern Europe where Natalia was raised. Natalia is keen for the Sete experience to be enticing, inclusive and ultimately to ‘make wine accessible to everyone’. In this spirit there are over 50 wines available by the glass and there is a bottle shop within the bar where bottles are available to purchase from as little as just over £10.
There are several tantalising small plates available to choose from such as chickpeas with persillade and onion tart with comte mousse. For your more classic wine accompaniments there is also a selection of cheeses and charcuterie. Though the menu may seem a little limited currently, the space is under development which will create room for 40 more covers inside and introduce an all-weather large garden area. Coupled with this expansion is the construction of a kitchen allowing a complete dinner menu to be introduced. These updates are set to be ready spring/summer 2023.
Make sure you keep an eye open for Sete’s exciting events, such has its monthly ‘club du vin’ wine tastings, where at £25 a head, you are taken though five wines. Other past events include stimulating evenings highlighting local talent from chocolatiers to clothing brands.
