The Square Kitchen is a modern British restaurant in Clifton that can be found in The Square Club, a private hire and events venue. The kitchen team at The Square Kitchen are always pleased to work with the very best of Bristol's best produce, ensuring that every diner has a tip top experience. As the menus champion local produce and seasonality, they are subject to change. However, the sample menus give you a good understanding of what you can expect to find.
Enjoy a selection of small plate dishes from land, including a chargrilled lamb kidney with pain perdu and an orchard vegetable dressing, the 24 hour belly pork with heritage carrots and raisin tapenade, or the dry aged flat iron steak with a bone marrow butter. If you prefer dishes from the sea, try the beer battered haddock with sriracha, braised peas and a tartare dressing, or the grilled sea trout with salted fennel, ras el hanout tomato butter and burnt lemon.
Whilst most restaurants leave it there at land and sea selections, The Square Club has two more. There's a nduja scotch egg with apple and prune compote and confit Creedy Carver duck leg with Schezwan plums from the air, and dukkah roasted cauliflower with chickpeas and salsa verde, and heritage tomato with peach, burrata and black olive from earth. Heading into the mains, there are burgers for meat eaters and vegans, and a range of ciabattas that can be made gluten free on request. Try the smoked ham hock with celeriac remoulade and tarragon mustard, or cave aged cheddar with beetroot chutney and pickled shallots. For dessert we would opt for the very British clotted cream parfait made with English strawberries and lavender honey.
