Simon the Tanner brings incredible passion for exceptional food, drinks, music, and epic sounds to its customers, located between London Bridge and Borough. Inside is quite cosy, and although there isn’t a huge amount of space, Simon the Tanner is a great spot to visit for after work gatherings, long lunches and brunches on the weekend, and weeknight evenings when you need some great food and a refreshing pint (during these evenings, only vinyl tunes play in the background). The team at Simon the Tanner are proud to serve locally brewed beers, thoughtfully selected wines and spirits, and have a commitment to serving customers dishes that are made with locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.
The food menu is simple but has everything you need for a satisfying bite to eat. Start with the spicy polenta chips with harissa mayo and cider braised pigs head with toast and house pickles, or the hot smoked Cornish mackerel with a celeriac remoulade and crispy cod cheeks with a pea and mint pesto and caper mayo. For your main, try the Louisiana rub pork neck with DDC coleslaw and potato wedges, along with a beef lindström with chuck steak, beetroot and caper patty, fried egg and pickles and potato wedges on the side. Veggies will love the potato gnocchi with wild garlic, grilled asparagus with a smoked red pepper sauce or the pickled white asparagus with a truffled emulsion.
To finish things off, enjoy the lemon Eton mess with rhubarb and elderflower or the chocolate brownie with a white coffee ice cream. If you prefer to end your meal on a more savoury note, try the selection of cheeses from Neals Yard.
