One of the few Persian restaurants in Hove, Shiraz brings traditional Persian food to this quaint town on the south coast, from dishes cooked over its charcoal grill to plenty of vegetarian options. Spanning two floors, and with its hero grill in the middle of the dining room, Shiraz offers a relaxed dining experience where everyone from large groups to families and dates are invited to soak up the atmosphere and feast on its authentic dishes.
Start with a selection of hot and cold appetisers for the whole table to share. Think grilled halloumi with roasted peppers, crispy falafel, rice stuffed vine leaves and a range of dips to enjoy with its fluffy warm naan breads. Main courses, meanwhile, span a huge range of stews, kebabs, rice dishes, grills and sharing platters. If you don’t go for something classic like skewered minced lamb with rice, you might like to try one of its slow-cooked stews, such as lamb cooked with split peas, tomatoes and aubergine, or slow-cooked chicken in a saffron and tomato sauce served with saffron rice, sundried barberries and pistachios.
The perfect place to bring the whole family, Shiraz also offers a kids’ menu which includes a choice of lamb or chicken served with rice or chips for no more than a tenner. Finally, the drinks list features a selection of red, white and sparkling wines.
Shiraz Persian Restaurant offers cosy and traditional décor throughout, from exposed red brick walls to wooden tables and flooring. For those who can't make it down to the restaurant, the menu is also available for delivery so you can enjoy its signature dishes at home, too.
