Savage Garden is easily one of the best rooftop bars in London. Perched on top of the DoubleTree by Hilton, the bar boasts elegant decor, stunning views of the city and across the river and exciting cocktails to try. Food isn’t an afterthought here either, with lots of tasty sharing plates and feasting boards making an appearance. Guests can soak in the rays on the terrace during the day and soak in London’s nighttime skyline as the sun sets later on.
The signature cocktails here are a must, each a totally unique concoction. The St Olave, for example, is a punchy blend of gin, ancient liqueur and a locally brewed mead to a fizzy finish. The semiotics martini, meanwhile, is a more elegant affair, mixing vodka, pineapple and Champagne.
In the culinary department, meanwhile, you’ll find a great selection of bar snacks and sharing plates. The former includes goat's cheese, pea and tarragon croquettes, plantain chips with avocado hummus and fries with black garlic mayo. More substantial small plates include charred octopus with fennel, orange chermoula and toasted kasha, burratina with smoked tomatoes and basil or roasted cauliflower with labneh, zhoug and chilli roasted ancient grains.
In the latter, meanwhile, you’ll find the likes of crispy squid sticks with pineapple ketchup, citrus and buttermilk chicken sliders and sesame prawn toast with bacon jam. For groups of four, there are feasting boards too. If your group likes things at the meatier end of the scale, the carnivorous board features coconut beef short ribs, roasted poussin, beef sliders fries and house slaw. The pescetarian board includes tempura mussels with chilli mayo, crispy squid sticks, sesame prawn toast and boiled shell-on prawns, and the vegetarian showcases honey miso aubergine sliders, charred radishes with firecracker dressing and goat’s cheese pea and tarragon croquettes.
