On the site of TK’s Restaurant, this venture combines two of Italy’s great passions – fine food and fashion – under one roof on a historic City backstreet. The dining room is all lush, cream-toned elegance with dark woodwork, prints and pillars breaking up the space, while the menu promises an extensive run through the modern Italian repertoire (with a few Tuscan detours). Bresaola Chianina sits alongside yellowfin tuna carpaccio, pasta includes orecchiette with turnip tops as well as ‘crock pottery’ lasagne, while mains might range from sea bream in an aromatic salt crust to roast duck breast with Casteluccio lentils. Meanwhile, the fashion sides of things come courtesy of designer Luca Roda’s bespoke boutique – a must-visit for those who need to top up their wardrobe. Salotto & Roda even finds space for showing sporting events on the big screen.
