Roxie is a small, independent chain of steakhouses which put a sense of community, fair pricing and, of course, great steaks at the forefront.
Founded by steak-lovers Rich and Sue, they were fed up with being priced out of enjoying a decent steak at a friendly restaurant, so they decided to start their own. This turned out not to be a bad idea, as the pair now boast three neighbourhood restaurants in Putney, Earlsfield and Wimbledon, with each one bringing its own sense of character.
At the Earlsfield branch, for example, expect a light, open space perfect for socialising with a group. Stylish pendant lighting is complemented by exposed brick walls and cool, industrial seating. You'll find the same ethos and menu heroes wherever you go, though.
First up, why not kick things off with a delicious aperitivo like an Amaretto Sour or Margarita, which are both house favourites. Before getting stuck into your steak, the team recommends ordering some nibbles for the table like crisp halloumi, sticky Asian ribs and king prawns and chorizo in a white wine and spicy tomato sauce. When it comes to the steak menu, there's plenty of options between classics like rump, ribeye and fillet, as well as Butcher's cuts like the picanha, best served with one of the homemade sauces.
Take your pick between bourbon bbq, truffle mayo and classics like peppercorn or bearnaise. There's also plenty of sides to fill your boots with: we like the sound of the purple slaw, creamed spinach, miso sesame tenderstem and Roxie house salad. As well as the main menu, there's also plenty of special offers to take note of. Rack Attack Tuesdays are, for example, all about baby back ribs and chips, while Sundays are famous for the chicken or rump Sunday roast served with crispy slow roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pud, honey roasted veg, tenderstem broccoli and rosemary gravy.
