Paying homage to creative director and co-founder Rose Hood’s travels in Australia, Roll Baby serves up nutritious, fresh, and flavourful rice paper rolls. This second location, in the heart of Notting Hill’s iconic Portobello Road, aims to please all kinds of Londoners with its healthy menu filled with diverse flavours.
Roll Baby offers something for everyone, but standouts include the garlic prawn roll, with fat prawns, bright chilli and sesame, and the honey-glazed halloumi salad roll, with aioli and mint. Similarly, a fan favourite is the tofu roll, smokey and with a touch of pickled ginger. Roll Baby also experiments with less traditional ingredient combinations, with the pesto roll incorporating prosciutto, mozzarella, and locally-made pesto alongside pak choi. The team behind Farm Girl knows how to cater to different taste buds, as its range of vibrant dips allow for playful experimentation. Sauces such as tahini ginger, spicy sriracha mayo, sweet chilli, and satay, among others, help to create addictive combinations unique for every customer.
The rolls are also accompanied by a complete coffee menu, supplied by The Roasting Party, with the addition of a range of cold brew Viet coffees. Baked fresh by Roll Baby daily, there are also a variety of traditional pastries and unique sweet treats on offer, from banana bread to maca brownies.
Located on the bustling Portobello Road, Roll Baby’s burnt orange exteriors are eye-catching. The vibrancy continues inside, an intimate space with exposed brick and an expansive window which lets in the light, adding to that warm feeling that Roll Baby evokes with its summer rolls. There are some cosy tables for those who want to dine-in, while take-away and click-and-collect options for those in a rush are ever-popular. Whether on the go or taking it slow, Roll Baby provides healthy and appetising bites for all.
