Rogue Sarnies is a sandwich shop in Hackney. The little offshoot is attached to Rogues - a modern European restaurant near Cambridge Circus run by former Galvin La Chapelle chefs Zac Whittle and Freddie Sheen.
Everybody loves sandwiches, don't they? It's the humble sandwich that brought the founders Zac and Freddie togeether. The pair met at Galvin La Chapelle on Spital Square, and after a year, began hosting pop-ups to create and serve food that they love. Rogues was born as a pop-up restaurant in December of 2019, and then the pandemic created a huge problem for hospitality. But, the team managed to use their website to sell the very best produce to customers, chosen from their long time suppliers. When things started to cool off a little, Rogues began to host more sell out nights across London, before they began working with Hackney Coffee Co., and today, they have their very own permanent spaces to serve delicious plates and wonderful beverages.
There are various sarnies to choose from, beginning with the beef dip. This option comes filled with woodfire roast beef that is drenched in gravy, with caramelised and pickled Bovril red onion mix, provolone cheese and mustard. The Naples special is filled with honey roasted gammon, napolina sauce, shredded mozzarella, pineapple, burnt lemon aioli, hot sauce and a parsley salad. If veggie friendly is more your thing, try the zucchini fest with chargrilled courgettes, salsa verde, fresh belotti bean and chervil salad, and the option to add burrata. You won't want to miss the chance to dunk your crusts in delicious sauce. You can choose from club sauce, gravy and burnt lemon aioli, along with the warm apple sauce, marmite glaze and pickled pepper dip.
On certain days of the week, you’ll be able to add on a drink and a bag of crisps for a wicked deal price. Crisps here are nothing short of classic – we’re talking Hula Hoops, Monster Munch, Frazzles, Wotsits and Cheetos.
