The product of years in the restaurant industry, Piccolo Mondo in Renfrew is the most recent addition to the Pierotti family. Faces on the Scottish dining scene since the ‘60s, Tony and Giuliana, and now their son and his wife, hail from the hills of Tuscany and throughout the years have perfected the combination of Italian sophistication and friendly service you’ll find here at Piccolo Mondo. Decorated in a classic hotel lobby style, deep claret red and gold at the forefront of a chic and timeless colour scheme, Piccolo Mondo feels luxurious and relaxed with more than a touch of romance in its dimmed lighting and wide set tables. The restaurant’s name translates as ‘small world’, and somehow it's an appropriate summary of the menu – the work of Head Chef Steven Faulds – a beautiful collection of traditional Italian dishes with contemporary splashes of gourmet style, all very much inspired by the Tuscan countryside, which feels closer with every mouthful.
