Despite being in the centre of Edinburgh, Rio Steakhouse transports customers to the Tijuca Urban Forest that surrounds Rio de Janeiro, with planted walls and flowered ceilings decorating the venue, whilst you enjoy a traditional Brazilian Churrasco dining experience. Each of the chefs is Gaucho trained, and are on hand to continuously serve you delicious meats throughout your visit.
You first start your experience at the salad bar where you will find a range of combinations, along with imported cheeses, cured meats and Brazilian dishes. At your table, you then will have chefs bring you Churrasco meats, where you're served as much as you want. Don’t worry about being overloaded, you just turn over a card so that the team knows when you want to be served and when you need a break.
When it comes to steaks, enjoy the picanha, a special Brazilian cut, using only the best part of the rump steak, or the alcatra, which is a prime cut butchered the Brazilian way and slow roasted Rodizio style. Those who like sirloin will enjoy the maminha, which has a strong marble flavour, one of the most loved cuts of beef in Brazil, and the bavette beef skirt is served at weekend lunches and in the evening, being the strongest beef flavour and cooked using traditional Brazilian methods.
In the evenings, enjoy the fillet mignon, a beautiful tender cut of beef, and each week there are Rio special cuts. There are plenty of other meats too, like spicy chicken wings, BBC chicken thighs and a Brazilian delicacy of chicken hearts, along with caramelised pork, and authentic smoky Brazilian sausages and a Hawaiian inspired combination of gammon and pineapple.
